December 1, 2007

Well, the first snowfall of the season was today. You girls LOVE the snow. Even though mom hates it... Everytime I say, "ugh! I dont like this weather!" You girls would say, " I LOVE this weather!" I love seeing you both so excited! Mali, you have been singing, "Deck the Halls", But your own version. I wish I could tape record it and put it in this journal! Keely, you are so good at singing all the songs! I wish I had your sweet voice on tape too!

You girls are getting ready for Santa. We have been talking about writing him a letter and Mali says, "i'm going to write Santa a thank you note!" Always thinking of others!

I love you girls with all that I have. You mean the whole entire world to me. I am so honored that God chose me to be your mom. I couldn't imagine my life without you two in it. Even when I'm away from you for only a couple hours, like we were today, I miss you like crazy every second and wonder what you are doing! You have so much fun with Grandma and Grandpa. Uncle Brian and Aunt Mel are very special people to you also. They all take such good care of you when Mom and Dad are away. You bring light to everyone's life, especially mine. Thank you for being such wonderful angels!
I love you, I love you, I love you!

November 20, 2007

Well, we put up our Christmas tree this past weekend. We usually put it up Thanksgiving weekend, but we will be in Milwuakee, so the girls thought it would be fun to put it up early. It was a good time! Keely and Mali helped decorate the tree with their ornaments. We ate popcorn and drank hot chocolate. Mali had "bubbly" since she doesn't like hot chocolate. It looks beautiful! Mali loves when the lights are on and the tree is "awake" But is disappointed when the tree "sleeps" and she can't see the lights.

The girls have had bad colds this past week. I asked Mali when her cold was going to go away and she told me, "Ummmm, in about 45 minutes!" Jeff also asked her where her pj pants were one morning and she told him that they "flew the coop!" She keeps us laughing!

Keely has been picking up on everything we say and repeating it! She told me the picking up all her toys was "so annoying." And she is very excited for Santa to bring her presents. But she keeps telling Mali that if she doesn't share, Santa won't bring her presents. She has ears like a hawk that one!

I love you to pieces girls!

Mom

OH you girls have been so funny lately....Keely, you have named your Cabbage Patch Doll, "Dora Sargent Dot Com." You also told me that you would like an "easy button" for Christmas this year. Mali, when we were playing beauty shop, you told me, "mom, if we don't look good, you don't look good!" You two are the funniest people I know! You always keep me laughing!

I love you!

November 6, 2007

Well, today we hit the Children's Museum of MN. IT was SO MUCH FUN! Curious George was there and there was even a Sesame Street set up. You girls had a blast! But, we got lost on the way there and that is what you talked about!

We've been busy the past few days. NOt really doing much, but keeping busy. You both have colds right now and it's tough to see you suffer through the sniffles. But I am grateful that it is only a cold!

I love you girls!

Halloween Night

Halloween was last night and boy was it a fun time! Keely dressed up as a circus clown and Mali was a kitty cat. They both had a blast trick or treating. It's the first year we really went to houses, other than grandma's neighbors. Keely was afraid to ring the doorbells at first, but she got the hang of it pretty quickly. After Mali would get her candy, she would run back to us and say, "MOM! I got a TON of candy!" She was very excited. Keely was scared of a few of the costumes the old kids had on. I told her that if she sees a scary costume, she should say "BOO!" to that person and see if she can surprise them. She never said it, but you could tell she really wanted to. I think she was scared speechless!!

It was a fun night! More updates later!
I love you girls!

October 30, 2007

Today has been a long day. Daddy had a meeting last night and class tonight so tonight has dragged on a little. We kept busy though making Halloween cupcakes for Dad's office. We also got to watch The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown. It was ok. Not as cool as I remember. But the girls liked it. Mali is very much into eating her Halloween candy that she got early from Grandma. She asked me millions of times tonight if she could have more candy. When I told her no, she said, "I have to wait a little bit?" (this is something I say to her a lot too!!) Also, while we were eating dinner tonight, Mali happened to get a plate that had a couple of dings in it. She pointed at them and asked what they were. I told her that her plate had a couple of chips in it. She gave me this grateful look and said, "Can I eat them?" (she is obsessed with potato chips!)

We went to "grandma's park" today after lunch and Keely was swinging on the swings. She must have had a really great time because she said, "This is the best time of my LIFE!" She is so funny. She has become very sensitive lately. Bursting into tears when she knows she has hurt someones feelings.

Ok, I've had about enough for tonight. I love you girls!

October 29, 2007

Well, another day has passed and you are both sleeping like little angels at the moment! It was another fun day...We got to watch Pooh's Heffelump Halloween Movie this morning on TV and that was fun! We also dressed up in our Halloween costumes and went to Grandma's house to see her because she will not be in town for Halloween this year. Mali was a cat and Keely was Jojo, the clown. Mali gets into full character of whoever she is. She "mewoed" all the way to grandma's and was a perfect cat! Keely was a perfect clown as well. SO CUTE!

Last night, I went for a walk with Mali. She loves to pretend that she is a different character all day. On our walk, she was being Diego. Her "best buddy." I was getting worried that she really thought she was Diego for awhile as she is SO into the character. Stopping every 10 feet or so to let the "caimens" walk by. So, I finally asked her if she really thought she was Diego, or if she was just pretending. She looked at me like I was crazy and said, "Mom, I'm just pretending" Then went on to say, "You can be Dora, but you can just pretend" She cracks me up!

I love you girls. You are the highlight of my day, every day!
Love always,
Mom

October 28, 2007

Well, this is the first time that I am journaling about my children. I have the two most wonderful daughters in the world. God has truly blessed our family with their lives. I feel especially honored to be chosen as their mother. I hope that in their lives, they will know how much they mean to me and how much I love them and that I would do absolutely ANYTHING for them. They have filled my life with so many memories. I should have started writing them down when they were born, but I didn't and now all I have to go on is my memory! So, I am going to try and do this every day and see how it goes...

Most recently, my mom and dad took the girls for a "grandma and grandpa day" Keely and Mali love these times so much. This time, Grandma and Grandpa took them to the pool at the YMCA. Both girls love to swim so this was a good choice. When they returned home and were telling me about all the fun they had. I asked if Grandpa was a good swimmer. They said yes, but Mali said, "But Grandma wasn't a really great swimmer!" Just flat out. Grandma needs some practice at swimming! (Mali is 2, Keely is 4)

Grandma called us the following day to tell the girls that the moon was out. Mali ran to the window and reported. "Yup! The moon is empty!!" (meaning full!)

Mali loves her "best buddy" Diego. She watches him on TV and says to Dad, "Go away Daddy!" Hopefully she will not do this later in life!!

Keely is growing and growing. She goes to Sunday school and takes swimming lessons. She is such a fast learner and loves, LOVES to cook and help mom bake. I wish I had a penny for every funny moment she has given me. She is becoming quite the lady and I can't wait to see what she will be like as a youth, and teenager and adult! Although I'm not quite ready for her to grow up THAT fast! She was just in my cousin Lanae's wedding a few weekends ago. She did a wonderful job as flowergirl. She threw leaves down the aisle for the bride. She took her sweet time coming down so everyone could see her. And as she got to the front, where I was standing, she looked at me and asked, "Now, who is going to pick all those up?" This is something she NEVER hears at home! She was quite a trooper all day long through photos and everything.

They are so good, sometimes I have to pinch myself... I love you girls with all my heart! Keep smiling and the world will smile with you!
Love,
Mom
